GB Energy Limited was successfully listed on the Australian Securities Exchange on 4 June 2007. Originally engaged in the broad energy sector, GB Energy had a diverse range of assets including oil and gas exploration projects in the Czech Republic and New Zealand, uranium exploration licenses in Slovakia and a wave energy technology project in Western Australia.

Following a strategic review of their assets, GB Energy withdrew from the oil and gas projects in the Czech Republic and New Zealand and intends to re-focus on opportunities in the oil and gas sector in Australia.
